Budi has been a consultant in the areas of strategic, organization and human capital management for more than 25 years. 

Budi's clients include PT Semen Indonesia (Persero), Tbk, PT Mitra Pinasthika Mulia, Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, PT Gajah Tunggal, Tbk, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero), Tbk, Ministry of Education and Culture, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero), Tbk, PT Centra Proteina Prima, Tbk, PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero), Tbk, PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Telkomsel, Indonesian National Police, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga. 

Budi also has had experience in managing educational institution, such as the Institute of Management of the University of Indonesia, the Indonesian Institute for Management Development, Sampoerna School of Business, and University of Pertamina. Budi is known as an institutional builder. In all of those education institutions, Budi rebuild them to be competitive in the industry. Budi partly owns two consulting firms: PT Rimbun Daya Hutama (specializing in organization and human capital management) and PT Wahana Insan Nararya (specializing in strategic change management), and is a master trainer for the WorkPlace Big Five Profile personality assessment. In his recent assignment, Budi accepted a responsibility to become Vice Rector of Research, Development and Cooperation at University of Pertamina. This responsibility goes through the year of 2021, and afterward, Budi was assigned as Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs at University of Pertamina until August of 2023. Academic progress dan student development were his responsibilities. In 2021, he was also invited as the Member of the Board of Advisors of the Center of Digital and Human Transformation (CDHX), a prestigious organization that provides a learning and education to develop digital agility in people. Budi is also co-hosted a podcast in 2L4U youtube channel.
